Alasser - starter engine

Hi guys,
I am new on the forum. Sorry for mailing in english. I do understand the german language very well but writing without grammatical errors is too difficult...
I do live in north-west flemish speaking part of Belgium, for those interested in history: noth that far from the first world war battlefields.
Due to some health problems I could not ride my motorcycles anymore and therefore I recently bought a 2008 Honda Innova 125I with windsccreen with only 250 km for the total of 1000 euro.
The bike was very dusty but after cleaning appeared to be almost brand new. And there was a very nice Sebring exhaust too.
Now with only 1250 km there is a problem. I can not start anymore with the electric starter. When put the ignition on, the dashboard lights functions and I can hear the fuel pump working. When I push the start button, nothing happens and the starter engine remains completely quite, not even a "click".
With the bike in neutral, I can kickstart the engine immediately which complete turns normal and sounds very well. So far so good, but when I then put the engine in first gear, the engine stops turning.
I could not find any fault and also cheched the sidestandconnection. But to be honest: I a fairly bad in electrics...
Is there somebody on the forum who can help me or can give me some advise? You may answer me in german.
Thanks.
Greetings
Dirk

Robert

Many thanks Robert for the fast reply.
Well my first name is in the northern part of Belgium (Flanders or in German "Flandern") common for people of my age (50 plus...) The Flamish language is one of the Germanic languages (Niederfraenkisch-Wikipedia) and some German first names are very usual (euh, were very usual before the "damned Americanisation" of our language).
Belgium is not a French speaking country as many people think: more than 55 % speak Flemish but my region knew in the past a very strong influence of French, hence my familyname.
Tomorow I will try your advice and check the sidestand again.
To be continued...
Greetings,
Dirk

Moin Dirk,

Groeten,
Dirk

Hi Martin and Robert,
yesterday I checked the sidestandswitch. It was defect. I did as you told (disconnecting the switch and coupling the two tiny cables) and the Innova is now back on the road.
Thanks again for the tip.

Hi Dirk,
Alstublieft. Dont forget to replace the switch.
